Japan's aesthetic sense has fostered richness in spiritual life by tailoring modern and simple designs to everyday items.
Classic Ko expresses these ideas in the world of jewelry, combining traditional Maki-e techniques with modern sensibilities.
These Maki-e fountain pens and ballpoint pens have a new look and feel, and can be enjoyed together with jewelry, based on this unique worldview.

■About the product name "Makie Bunbo Fountain Pen/Ballpoint Pen"
"Bunbo" means a room for reading or writing, or a so-called "study." In the past, writers had a special attachment to stationery, and they came to particularly value the four treasures of the study: brush, ink, inkstone, and paper.
We want people to reconsider the way they enjoy writing as seen in this work, and write freely with Maki-e fountain pens and ballpoint pens as stationery tools. We want people to carefully consider their words and deliver them to their loved ones. We want people to once again rediscover the act of writing as a precious time. With this in mind, we named our products "Maki-e Bunbo Fountain Pens and Ballpoint Pens."

■About Oshita Kosen Studio and Classic Ko
Oshita Kosen Kobo, a maki-e studio in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, has been in business since 1894. The founder, Oshita Sekko, has been creating and passing on Kaga maki-e, which requires advanced decorative techniques that he learned in Kanazawa, in his hometown in the mountains. He has specialized in high-end writing instruments and tea ceremony utensils, and is devoted to pursuing the pureness, delicacy, and elegance of Kaga maki-e.
The jewelry brand "Classic Ko" by Oshita Kosen Kobo makes full use of the decorative techniques of "Maki-e and Urushi" that have been passed down through the ages, while creating a unique mix of beauty that is inherited through modern sensibilities. It is produced using outstanding techniques in which gold and silver metal powder is sprinkled on top of a lacquer painting, hardened, and polished to create the piece.
The jewelry, which combines natural materials, traditional techniques, and modern sensibilities, has a strong narrative quality and can be enjoyed by people of all nationalities and generations.
